I have found a little more info on these two. His will Names wife Jean,(second wife), children Thomas, and John--who must be older for they are requested to raise and educate the younger children. He was only married to his last wife one year or so, before his death. Other children are William, Sally, Polly, Adam and Robert.
Letter in archives in atlanta: Mentions Adam Livingston, says he came from northern Ireland before the Revolutionary War and fought in the war. He was in the Battle of Kings Mountain. Says he came over with a wife and one child. After the war he moved to Greene County, GA. His wife was killed by the Indians seven miles east of Greensboro. Letter names two sets of children. first: Robert, Elizabeth, William, John and Adam. Second, Thomas, Sarah, Mary Aaron, Jasper and Alfred.
from History of Greene County. "Adam Livingston a native of the north of Ireland, grandfather of L.F. Livingston, came to America in 1760. He bore arms in the struggle for independence, after which he removed first to Virginia and then to Georgia, settling in Greene County where his first wife was killed by the Indians while getting water at the spring. In 1805 the old veteran started to Kentucky, but died at Cumberland Gap while in route. Thereupon the family returned to Greene county where a plantation was purchased and a permanent home established."
Also from History of Greene Co. Revolutionary Soldiers: "Adam Livingston. B. in Ireland, served in Penn. moved to VA. then to Greene County where he was killed by Indians, had 13 children living in Greene county."
Robert Grier is also listed here as a revolutionary soldier. died 1820 buried out from White plains, GA on the Nelson Place. This is the husband of Margaret, who I believe is his sister. I suspect Robert is related to his first wife, but do not know how.
Another Livingston researcher has told me that He, Adam came over from Scotland with the Grier's.
Aaron Adam Livingston married Nancy Grier as I think his second wife. He had a sister named Margaret who married Robert Isaac Grier from Pa. Their brother Robert Livingston names his nephews, Aaron, Robert and Isaac. I have more on Aaron and Nancy if you wish to share.
