In the name of God Amen, I Sarah Mercer of the county of Jones & State of Georgia being at this time of moderate health and of sound and disposing mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of life, do think proper to make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament embracing the following items, after my decease
Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alethia Tabitha Cary one negro girl by the name of Emily and all her future increase, one bed, one clock, one cow and calf, one looking glass , and two decanters to her and her heirs forever.
Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Mercer one bed and furniture.
Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Ann Bethune Honeycutt one bed and furniture.
Item 4th It is my will and desire that all the balance of my estate should be sold and the proceeds equally divided in common amongst all my daughters.
Item 5th and last I hereby nominate and appoint my son-in-law John A Kary my whole and sole executor to carry ---- effect this my last will and testament.
In Testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 26th day March 1834
