Reddin Ruff Bailey was a member of Howell Swamp Free Will Baptist Church until October, 1904, when he was dismissed by letter. He was probably moving his membership to Spring Branch, the church he belonged to in his latter years. (The date of this dismissal may have been October, 1914.) He was clerk of Spring Branch Church. Stephen Bailey was also a clerk. He is buried in the Bailey-Mercer family cemetery near Walstonburg, N.C.
