Obituary of James Monroe Dickson
Research by Mary Ann Willoughby
Jas. M. Dickson, an old and honored citizen of Hancock, died at his home in the county on the 18th inst. His age was 84 years, 7 months and 2 days. He was born on the 6th of September, 1813. His death occurred on the 40th birthday of his youngest son, Green Dickson. Deceased was buried in the family burying ground by the side of his wife, who preceded him a number of years. He was a worthy and an honorable citizen, a gentleman of the old dispensation which, unhappily, has almost entirely disappeared. The Ishmaelite extends its sympathies to the loved ones, who wait their call to follow him.
Obituary, April 29, 1898.
