In the name of God amen , I Eli Mercer of the County of Nash and State of North Carolina being weak in body but of sound mind and memory Blessed be God for his goodness towards me do this first day of June in the year of our Lord 1832 make and ordain this my Last Will And Testament, as in the manner and form  following . That is to say after my decease and being buried at the discretion of my Executors and all my just debts is paid . I have all my worldly Estate to dispose of in the manner following.
Item  I give to my beloved Wife Margaret Mercer one bed bedstead and furniture  one pine chest one pine table and one Woman saddle.
I also lend to my Wife Margaret Mercer during her life or widowhood one Mare and colt, two cows & yearlings ,all my stock of hogs and sheep ,two Dagrns plows ,two floak howes two plow frames, two axes, one grubbing hoe, and two meading hoes and one bed and furniture one dozen silling chirs two pots and baly and one spider one griddle one dutch oven two bread trays one meal sifter one pine table one woolen wheel and cards one lining wheel and one half of the valuation of my land including the house and plantation during her lifetime or widowhood.
Item  I give to my daughter Nancy Mercer one bed bedstead and furniture one pine chest to her and her heirs forever.

Item  I give and bequeath to my son James  Mercer one bed and furniture one walnut table and one half of the valuation of my land lying at the north end of said land to him and his heirs forever.

Item  I give to my daughter Abba Mercer one feather bed and furniture one tea table to her and her heirs forever.

Item  I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Mercer one custom bed stead and furniture also one half of the land agreeable to valuation including the plantation where I now live after the decease or marriage of my wife margaret to him and his heirs forever and also one chaney press

Item I leave my three negroes to be sold namely Benjamin Meriney, and Margaret on a credit of nine months and one still and the money arising from the sale of said negroes and still to be equally divided between Mary Gardner, John Mercer, Sally Williamson, Nancy Mercer, Abby Mercer to them and their heirs forever.

Item I leave all of the property that I have lent to my Wife to be sold at the decease of said wife or marriage and the money arising from such sale to be equally divided between my heirs. I also leave all of the balance of my property that is not before willed away to be sold and after my just debts is paid out of that last mentioned property if there is any money left I leave it to be equally divided between my lawful heirs and I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my worthy friends Isaac Williamson and John Mercer My sole Executors to this my Last Will And Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written
