Kelly & Martha Long connection I believe that in 1850 ,at this Census Martha Kelly(34)/1816 has left John A Kelly and returned Home to Her parents house to survive as a single parent. The 1850 Census Above Shows Martha Kelly /1816 and her 4 kids , Amanda M. Kelly (12 ) /1838, Joseph G. Kelly (10) /1840, Martha A. (Elizabeth ? ) Kelly (8) /1842 , Rebecca A. Kelly (6)/1844, living in Home # 510 with Crawford Long(59)/1791 & Nancy (unknown )(57)/1793. And also the next home # 511 is Henry ( 37) & Drusilla (27 ) Long most probably Martha Long's Brother or Cousin. It fits very well as her Brother living in a house on the same or adjoining farm. I do Know that John A Kelly, my grand parent had a terrible temper. A 100 years later I was always acused of having inherited John A Kelly's Temper. Leaping to a conclusion , Martha may had to move on and not put up with John A Kelly's Temper. Or The family was in between homes and split up for economic reasons. At the same time we find That John A Kelly (39 ) /1811 is living with or next to Abner ( 66 ) & Margaret (65 ) in Homes # 407 & home # 408. John A Kelly ' age fits as a son of Abner , who has returned home. Dickson Ceme 159 12 Kelly Abner 0 0 2 2 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 now we find Abner Kelley spelled Kelly with 2 male children That fit John A kelly /1811( 29) 1840 Census Abner Kelly ( Spelled Kelly ) http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.hancock&m=1 Looking for the parents/siblings of James Curry Dickson of Hancock Co., GA.
